Overview
A professional services firm is seeking a Manager to join their Real Estate team within the Client Accounting Advisory practice. This role is remote, with occasional requirements to attend office locations for client work, team meetings, or training sessions.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the Real Estate accounting team, ensuring timely delivery of client work products.
- Independently perform and assist with complex accounting services.
- Manage a global team by providing guidance, training on accounting principles, and handling client and internal inquiries.
- Understand industry and client challenges to offer solutions and improvements.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities to add value to clients.
- Manage team performance, ensuring goals and benchmarks are met, including delivering monthly financials and supporting career growth.
- Manage client relationships through proactive communication, timely billing, and accounts receivable assistance.
- Develop expertise in necessary technology, enforce quality control procedures, and identify process improvements.
- Participate in mentoring, recruiting, retention, and team-building activities.
- Maintain professionalism and respect in all interactions.
- Adhere to regulations and professional ethics as per AICPA and state society standards.
- Comply with firm-wide and local office policies and procedures.
- Foster proactive communication with clients, staff, and internal stakeholders.
- Respond promptly and accurately to internal and client requests.
- Collaborate with internal experts to provide solutions for client challenges.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA and/or CPA license preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the Real Estate industry.
- Proven ability to lead corporate accounting processes such as cash management, accounts receivable/payable, month-end close, payroll, and benefits.
- Strong GAAP knowledge with hands-on experience in controllership functions including consolidations, general ledger close, and financial reporting.
- Strong Real Estate industry experience.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Project).
- Experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, Yardi, and Sage Intacct is preferred.
- Strong project and time management skills.
- High accuracy and attention to detail; self-starter and team player.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines.
- Significant knowledge of accounting and finance processes and functions.
- Strong understanding of financial statement preparation and analysis.
