Overview
A leading organization in the energy and industrial sector is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Financial Analyst II to join their Mechanical Division. This role supports financial operations and analysis within the refinery environment.
Job Title: Refinery Financial Analyst II
Location: Remote
Pay Range: $54-$62/hr
Duration: 18 months (potential to extend)
Responsibilities
- Provide accurate, timely, and insightful financial stewardship for the Mechanical Division at the refinery.
- Own OPEX analysis and reporting, including variance explanations and trend analysis.
- Support tax and audit cycles, prepare journals, accruals, and steward balance sheet accounts.
- Develop tools and insights that enable effective decision-making for site leadership.
- Partner closely with Mechanical leadership, cost stewards, and Corporate Accounting Services to ensure strong financial governance and compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of finance or accounting experience in a refinery, chemicals, or heavy manufacturing environment with a focus on OPEX.
- Hands-on experience with SAP (FI/CO/PM), maintenance cost flows, journals, accruals, and balance sheet stewardship.
- Strong analytical skills and advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Experience with data governance.
- Clear communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
