Overview
A leading global firm specializing in architecture, engineering, and geospatial services is seeking a Regional Controller to join their Finance and Accounting team. This role is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations within the North America region, ensuring financial integrity, compliance, and operational excellence. The position reports to the Corporate Controller and involves leadership of multiple accounting teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting functions for the U.S. region, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, expense reporting, cash management, credit card programs, and general ledger.
- Lead, develop, and manage managers and staff across various accounting functions.
- Set regional priorities, staffing models, and performance standards aligned with enterprise objectives.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Approve complex journal entries, estimates, and accounting judgments.
- Prepare and review regional financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and corporate reporting requirements.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve internal controls across regional accounting processes.
- Serve as the primary regional contact for internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and audit standards.
- Monitor daily cash activity and liquidity for the region.
- Collaborate with Corporate Accounting and Treasury on cash forecasting, intercompany transactions, and banking strategies.
- Resolve banking discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Act as a senior accounting advisor to operational and functional leaders within the region.
- Lead initiatives for accounting process improvements, automation, and system enhancements.
- Support corporate consolidation, reporting, and enterprise initiatives with high-quality regional data.
- Travel up to 15% for business purposes.
Requirements
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Proven leadership experience managing managers and multi-layered teams.
- Experience overseeing regional or multi-entity accounting operations.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required.
- Expert knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal control frameworks.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to make independent, risk-based decisions.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and enterprise accounting tools.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in multinational or matrixed organizations.
- Experience supporting consolidation and enterprise reporting.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $139,200 - $150,000 USD, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

This position is based in the United States with travel requirements up to 15% for business purposes.
