Overview
This role supports regulatory compliance for fiber-based communications services. Responsibilities include preparing and submitting state and federal regulatory filings on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, maintaining regulatory reports and tracking databases, and assisting with regulatory responses, audits, and other compliance-related activities.
Responsibilities
- Timely and accurately file state and federal regulatory reports for the organization and related legal entities.
- Assist the regulatory compliance department with coordination of responses to data requests.
- Seek required approvals and support commission inquiries.
- Support and maintain various ILEC/CLEC/IXC reports, AP coordination, and state US payment processing and maintenance of regulatory reports, logs, and databases.
- Maintain regulatory report files and track relevant databases.
- Proactively and professionally communicate with internal departments, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
- Manage regulatory audits.
- Assist with ad hoc compliance projects as they arise.
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor’s degree with concentration in telecommunications or accounting (preferred).
- 5–8 years of experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, tax, or financial reporting role.
- Accounting and financial analysis skills.
- Accounts Payable experience (desired).
- Detail oriented.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Research skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Effective communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree with concentration in telecommunications or accounting.
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting compensation range: $50,000 to $74,500.
- Base pay will depend on the candidate’s primary work location and other factors, including relevant skills and experience.
