Overview
This role supports an organization developing and training artificial intelligence technologies. The organization is seeking a Senior Accounting Consultant (AI Trainer) to evaluate AI-generated accounting work and provide accurate, well-reasoned feedback.
- Work style: Fully remote (flexible independent contractor)
- Estimated minimum commitment: approximately 10 hours per week
- Additional work: available for professionals who want more hours
- Location: must be available to work from anywhere in the U.S.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate AI-generated accounting work for technical accuracy, consistency, and appropriate application of accounting principles.
- Identify accounting and financial reporting errors and explain why a given treatment or conclusion is correct or incorrect.
- Determine and communicate appropriate accounting treatments for a variety of realistic professional scenarios.
- Develop practical accounting tasks, questions, and scenarios based on real-world experience.
- Provide expertise across areas such as:
- financial statements
- month-end close
- reconciliations
- GAAP/IFRS
- audit
- tax
- controls
- technical accounting
- financial reporting
- Follow detailed project guidelines and deliver precise, thoughtful, written feedback.
Qualifications
- Current or recent hands-on professional experience in Accounting or a closely related field.
- Strong practical knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting processes.
- Ability to clearly explain complex accounting concepts, identify errors, and articulate appropriate accounting treatments and reasoning.
- Strong written communication, analytical reasoning, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
- Relevant experience may include one or more of the following:
- Controller, Assistant Controller
- Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, Staff Accountant
- Technical Accountant
- SEC/Financial Reporting professional
- Auditor, Tax professional
- Similar accounting roles
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting rate: $40/hour
- Higher-paying specialized projects may be available based on expertise and project requirements.
- Skills assessment: Candidates must complete an approximately one-hour unpaid skills assessment before gaining access to project work. Results are generally available within 1–3 days.

- Fully remote opportunity with flexibility to work from anywhere in the U.S.
- Scheduling may include weekdays, evenings, nights, or weekends based on individual availability.
