Overview

A well-established investment firm founded in 1990 is seeking a Research Associate to support its investment professionals. The firm manages approximately $30 billion in assets across various strategies and serves a global client base including endowments, foundations, pensions, private banks, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals. The position offers flexible work location options, including remote work, with the firm headquartered in New York City.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain high-quality financial models and company-level forecast scenario models with accurate assumptions and consistent formatting
  • Analyze industry structures, competitive dynamics, and peer performance to produce industry trackers, comparable company tables, and other data-driven insights
  • Manage quarterly earnings spreadsheet updates to monitor portfolio holdings and watchlist companies in a timely manner
  • Create and update KPI and performance dashboards to track trends and support investment analysis
  • Write clear and concise earnings summaries, management commentary notes, and follow-up insights for internal and external audiences
  • Conduct data analysis including screening with FactSet, CapitalIQ, or Bloomberg; consolidate and track industry and census data; maintain watchlists

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field
  • Minimum of four years of equity research or closely related financial analysis experience (buy-side or sell-side)
  • Proven experience creating and maintaining a high volume of complex financial models, including company-level forecast and multi-scenario models
  • Experience managing systematic earnings updates and KPI dashboards to support portfolio monitoring
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and valuation techniques
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex information into concise insights
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priority assignments effectively
  • Highest degree of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
