Overview
This role supports research finance operations within a network of oncology clinical research programs. The Research Finance Operations Analyst ensures accurate, compliant, and timely research billing processes by addressing financial queries, maintaining billing guides, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform financial analysis, reporting, and day-to-day operational activities related to oncology clinical research programs
- Maintain operational and workload trackers for the research finance team and drive data review to support program operations
- Resolve assigned financial and research billing queries independently; escalate complex issues as needed to ensure timely follow-up
- Analyze research billing inquiries to identify root causes, recurring trends, and opportunities for process improvement
- Develop, revise, and maintain research billing guides, including amendment billing guides, and related finance documentation
- Collaborate with teams across Operations, Finance, Compliance, Revenue Cycle, and practice stakeholders to support compliant and consistent research billing processes
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet organizational goals
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Business, Healthcare Administration, Clinical Operations, or a related field
Experience
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in research finance, clinical research operations, healthcare finance, revenue cycle, or related areas
- Experience supporting research billing processes preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word; experience with reporting tools, financial trackers, and clinical research or billing systems preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to summarize findings, respond to inquiries, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders
- Foundational knowledge of clinical research operations and regulations, including Good Clinical Practice, HIPAA, and research billing compliance; familiarity with CMS and NCCN guidance preferred
- Organized, dependable, able to manage multiple priorities, demonstrate initiative and sound judgment, and work independently and as part of a team
Compensation & Benefits
- Base pay range: $92,900 - $154,900
- Compensation is determined by factors including performance, experience, skills, equity, market evaluations, and geographic location
- Additional compensation such as annual bonuses or long-term incentives may be offered
