Overview
This role involves working as a Revenue Assurance Coordinator within a healthcare organization specializing in radiology services. The position focuses on analyzing revenue variance reports, investigating discrepancies, and coordinating with various teams to ensure accurate revenue recovery and billing processes.
Responsibilities
- Receive and analyze Revenue Variance Reports for West Coast centers.
- Investigate variances by researching front end, back end, and National Payor Database (NPD) discrepancies.
- Conduct research within billing systems and other data sources to assess revenue recovery opportunities.
- Notify appropriate parties to initiate appeals or re-billing for accounts with potential revenue recovery.
- Maintain communication with Reimbursement Operations personnel and contracting teams regarding open appeals.
- Coordinate with leadership and contracting to implement payor-initiated modifications such as fee schedule updates, coding changes, billing issues, and timely filing limit changes.
- Prepare and maintain Revenue Assurance Module (RAM) Variance Tables within the NPD for assigned practices.
- Generate monthly dashboard reports on RAM status and results.
- Assist in implementing procedures and best practices.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership, including administrative tasks and ad hoc reporting.
- Attend meetings, seminars, and training as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma required; secondary education preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare insurance or insurance reimbursement.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of payors, contracting, insurance types/classes, CPT codes, and fee schedules.
- Understanding of the proprietary nature of fee schedules and contracts, with strict confidentiality.
- Superior analytical, written, and oral communication skills; fluency in English required.
- Ability to work independently and in group settings.
- Ability to anticipate potential problems and propose solutions.
- Ability to handle moderately complex assignments with minimal supervision.
- Availability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Pacific Time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of revenue cycle process flow is desired but not required.
- Demonstrated professionalism and effective communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
