Overview
The Pharmacy Revenue Coordinator serves as the subject matter expert for the 340B program, providing oversight to all 340B Program Covered Entities. This role ensures the program is optimized, records are complete, accurate, and auditable, and primary objectives are met. The coordinator manages day-to-day compliant medication procurement, billing, and inventory to uphold compliance standards and realize cost savings. Additionally, this position assists with the implementation and adherence to 340B-related policies and procedures, oversees the internal audit program, analyzes data trends, and serves as the primary contact for 340B compliance and audits.
Responsibilities
- Oversee 340B program compliance and ensure all records are accurate and auditable
- Manage medication procurement, billing, and inventory in compliance with 340B standards
- Assist with development, implementation, and maintenance of 340B policies and procedures
- Lead the 340B internal audit program and analyze audit findings
- Serve as the primary point of contact for 340B compliance and audits
- Coordinate the 340B Executive Oversight Committee
- Analyze contracts to maximize cost savings and identify opportunities for standardization
- Review and investigate pharmacy revenue cycle to maximize charge capture and ensure appropriate reimbursement
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper pricing and reimbursement of pharmacy services
- Develop and produce routine reports monitoring the revenue cycle
- Prepare management reports providing pharmacy leadership with timely information on revenue, compliance, and audit issues
- Monitor and assess 340B guidance, industry publications, and rule changes, including HRSA/OPA and Medicaid updates
- Maintain communication with staff and management regarding 340B program changes and quality improvement activities
- Ensure accurate registration and recertification with HRSA 340B OPAIS, including annual and quarterly updates
- Support primary contacts and authorized officials in registration and recertification processes
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in business or a health-related field (required)
- Three to five years of experience in a 340B hospital oversight role, including responsibility for policies, audits, data analysis, and compliance
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Experience managing 340B purchases in a mixed-use setting with a third-party administrator
- Experience with 340B purchasing
- Advanced Microsoft Excel reporting and analysis skills (expert-level preferred)
- Experience overseeing a third-party administrator integrated with an electronic health record system (e.g., Epic)
- Apexus Advanced 340B Operations Certificate (required)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or related field
- Experience overseeing a 340B contract pharmacy program
- Experience with chargemaster maintenance and updates
- Experience with pharmacy revenue integrity program oversight
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification
- Pharmacy Technician licensure from the California Board of Pharmacy
