Overview

This remote position is for a Revenue Cycle Manager (RCM) responsible for leading a revenue cycle team or region within a medical billing services environment. The role involves direct supervision of managers, driving communication, decision-making, and measurable results for multiple clients. The RCM will develop and execute strategies to deliver high-quality service, responsiveness, and clear direction to teams and clients, supporting organizational growth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach team members to achieve high productivity, quality, and accountability.
  • Oversee posting activities including reviewing client cash summaries, ensuring timely processing, reconciling cash summaries, and managing month-end processes.
  • Manage billing activities such as resolving billing inquiries, ensuring accurate charge entry, handling rejections, and maintaining billing rules.
  • Oversee accounts receivable functions including weekly soft closes, credit balance verification, AR follow-up metrics, and timely closing.
  • Monitor and evaluate associate performance, providing coaching and feedback regularly.
  • Proactively track key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement improvements.
  • Manage regional staffing expenses efficiently.
  • Resolve items in the RCM Brain queue daily.
  • Participate in meetings, performance improvement initiatives, and project execution.
  • Respond to inquiries from leadership, clients, and associates using data-driven insights.
  • Partner with Human Resources on recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training new team members.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations including EEO and ADA.
  • Make timely personnel decisions when performance improvement is not achieved.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Management preferred.
  • 3–5 years of management experience.
  • Experience in ambulatory surgery center, surgical hospital, or hospital billing environments.
  • Experience with forecasting, staffing, scheduling, and workload balancing.
  • Proven success in performance management and coaching high-performing teams.
  • Experience interviewing and selecting talent.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Advanced analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Prior experience in a medical office or call-center environment is strongly preferred.

  • Manage a team of direct reports and client relationships.
