Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) Team
The organization is seeking talented professionals to join its Revenue Cycle Management team. This recruitment serves as a talent pipeline for multiple current and upcoming roles within the RCM function.
Responsibilities
Candidates can indicate their preference for one of the following four primary functional areas:
- Revenue Cycle Specialist (Billing & Collections): Responsible for resolving claim issues including denials, payment variances, and other unresolved issues arising from internal and external customers.
- Patient Collection Specialist: Assists patients with medical billing and insurance-related questions through account research, balance verification, and billing and policy compliance verification. Responsible for collecting patients’ outstanding balances and authorized to transfer or adjust balances pending manager approval.
- Payment Research Specialist: Handles claims issues within Care Centers, including accounts receivable denials, underpayments, payments not aligned with contractual agreements, and other unresolved claims issues.
- Provider Services Associate: Works under the Provider Services Manager to initiate and maintain the payer enrollment table in Athena (Electronic Health Record system).
Qualifications
Common Qualifications for All RCM Roles
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years current experience interpreting insurance explanation of benefits, patient benefit plans, policy coverage, and patient responsibility.
- Minimum of 2 years current experience working with medical claims, billing, collections, and appeals; OB/GYN specialty preferred.
- Experience with healthcare practice management systems (AthenaNet preferred).
- Experience with cloud-based Customer Relationship Management (CRM) technology (Salesforce preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with internal and external customers.
- Experience and knowledge of commercial and governmental insurance payer and clearinghouse portals (e.g., Availity, Navinet, Optum), including billing guidelines and policy updates.
- Working knowledge of Medical Billing & Coding preferred.
