Overview
This remote position is open to residents of Michigan and involves managing sales tax fund recovery financials for Fortune 500 and luxury automotive clients. No prior automotive experience is required as training will be provided. The role emphasizes critical thinking, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Review and audit cases for sales tax retrieval
- Apply for sales tax refunds on behalf of various clients
- Communicate with external organizations to obtain necessary documents for sales tax retrieval
- Allocate received sales tax refunds appropriately
- Maintain accurate records related to sales tax retrieval
- Apply for funds related to third-party warranty refunds
- Communicate with external organizations to obtain necessary documents for warranty refunds
- Allocate received warranty refunds appropriately
- Maintain records related to warranty fund retrieval
- Assist with fund recovery for various special projects
- Provide timely and accurate solutions through inbound and outbound communications including phone calls, chats, emails, and other methods while maintaining a positive attitude
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of customer care experience (e.g., call center, retail, restaurant, fast food, hotel, or any role involving customer interaction)
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
- Self-motivated, organized critical thinker
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Availability to work Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern / 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Central / 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mountain / 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pacific time
- Must reliably adhere to the assigned schedule
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree (preferred but not required)
Remote Work Requirements
- Must be a resident of Michigan
- Have a secluded and distraction-free work environment
- Internet requirements:
- High-speed internet delivered through a wired provider (cable or fiber)
- Computer must be physically connected to the modem/router using an Ethernet cable
- Wireless, 5G, and satellite connections are not supported
