Overview
This role supports the fixed assets accounting function within the organization’s North American division. Responsibilities include ensuring proper classification of fixed assets and construction in progress (CIP) in accordance with US GAAP, supporting month-end close activities, participating in software implementation, and assisting with year-end audit processes.
Responsibilities
- Ensure proper classification of fixed assets and construction in progress (CIP) according to US GAAP
- Adhere to month-end close process and timing for fixed assets, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting
- Play a key role in the implementation of new Fixed Assets software
- Review CIP balances and ensure timely capitalization of assets
- Assist with year-end audit, including roll-forwards, schedules, and support requests
- Collaborate with Construction and Operations colleagues regarding project spend and accuracy of asset classification
- Maintain asset tracking schedules and identify process improvements
- Prepare other ad hoc schedules as requested by management, lenders, and auditors
Requirements
Education / Experience
- Minimum of seven years of relevant accounting and financial analysis experience
- CPA highly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
- Experience with NetSuite is highly preferred
- Experience in data center, real estate, or construction industries is beneficial
- East coast location preferred
