Overview
This role involves maintaining general ledger accounts and supporting financial statement and reporting activities under general direction. The position focuses on complex accounting work within an assigned area of expertise, requiring in-depth analysis of data and consideration of multiple factors. Responsibilities include applying judgment within established practices and policies, selecting methods and evaluation criteria to achieve results, and providing guidance to lower-level personnel when appropriate.
Responsibilities
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual period close processes, as assigned.
- Design, implement, and maintain internal controls; produce reports for financial systems and interfaces.
- Prepare and/or review account reconciliations, cost reports, billings, bank reconciliations, and other financial reports, as assigned.
- Provide information to auditors and management as needed; prepare audit schedules as necessary.
- Recommend procedures and implement corrective actions where operations are out of compliance with hospital policy, internal controls, and accounting policies, as assigned.
- Review and/or prepare federal, state, and other regulatory reports to ensure compliance with established guidelines, as assigned.
- Review and/or prepare financial transaction and/or general ledger journal entries and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy; take action to correct errors.
- Review, maintain, reconcile, and update general ledger accounts, as assigned.
- Take ownership and accountability for accurate and timely financial reporting to stakeholders.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a work-related field/discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Three (3) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.

- Knowledge of computer systems and software used in accounting, and in the functional area.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulatory requirements related to the functional area.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for GAAP, tax issues, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Workday), and Microsoft Office; specifically Power Automate and Power BI.
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role, and may be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
- Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.
Minimum to Midpoint Range (Hourly): $48.02 to $62.43
