Overview
An organization focused on advancing artificial intelligence through world simulation is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their Finance team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and self-driven accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and values accuracy and ownership.
The position is open to remote candidates across the U.S., with offices located in New York City, San Francisco, and Seattle.
Responsibilities
- Execute timely and accurate monthly close processes, including preparing and posting journal entries and flux analyses
- Maintain account reconciliations and investigate and resolve variances
- Support accounts receivable operations such as invoicing, collections follow-up, cash application, and aging review
- Support accounts payable operations including invoice review, reconciliation, and cash management
- Identify and implement process improvements across accounting workflows, document procedures, strengthen controls, and promote consistency as the team scales
- Represent the accounting function in cross-functional discussions with departments such as Legal, Sales, and Engineering to ensure accounting considerations are integrated early in decision-making
- Assist in preparing supporting schedules and documentation for external audits and financial reporting
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CPA candidate preferred
- Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience with strong technical fundamentals
- Solid command of U.S. GAAP and comprehensive understanding of the full close cycle
- High proficiency in Excel; experience with NetSuite is a plus
- Highly organized and dependable with the ability to manage competing deadlines without sacrificing accuracy
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams
