Overview

Reporting directly to the Controller, this Senior Accountant role supports daily operations of the Accounting Department. Responsibilities include establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies, and principles, supporting revenue accounting operations (including accounts receivable and general ledger functions), and contributing to financial reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Revenue Accounting Support: Review and document revenue contracts, establish and maintain revenue recognition policies, and manage revenue-related audit inquiries in accordance with ASC 606.
  • Revenue Close Process: Oversee month-end close tasks by reconciling month-end balance sheets and revenue accounts, and analyzing revenue variances.
  • Intercompany Accounting: Manage intercompany accounting processes to ensure proper eliminations.
  • Customer Contract Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams (Sales, Legal, Operations) to review customer contracts, identify revenue recognition issues or risks, and determine appropriate treatment under ASC 606.
  • Complex Transaction Management: Lead and collaborate on complex transactions with billing, deal teams, and other business stakeholders.
  • Audit Interactions: Work directly with external auditors by presenting significant item updates and supporting documentation for annual audits.
  • International Consolidation: Support consolidation of revenue accounting for international entities, including foreign currency translations.
  • Internal Controls & Systems: Develop and maintain internal controls over accounting areas; define business requirements with cross-functional teams, ensure data integrity, and oversee testing and deployment for tools related to customer revenue.
  • Process Improvements: Assess revenue processes and controls, identify improvement opportunities, and implement changes to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • 3–5 years of accounting experience.
  • Solid knowledge of US GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Enthusiastic, adaptable mindset with a focus on learning and growth.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
  • Experience using AI tools to save time and automate tasks where possible.
  • Experience using Workday.
  • Experience within FinTech, payments, payment gateways, payment orchestration, or financial services.
  • Experience supporting organizations operating across North America, Europe, LATAM, and APAC.
  • Background with a mix of public accounting and industry experience.
