Overview
This opportunity is with an organization in the insurance industry seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Lead to manage and oversee high-volume accounts payable operations across multiple entities.
Responsibilities
- Manage and process high-volume accounts payable transactions
- Lead and mentor accounts payable team members to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Oversee vendor payments in compliance with company policies
- Maintain internal controls over cash disbursements and accounts payable processes
- Support monthly financial close activities, including accruals and reconciliations
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounts payable experience, including at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Experience managing high-volume invoice processing
- Strong understanding of internal controls related to disbursements and fraud prevention
- Proficiency in Workday Accounts Payable and advanced Excel skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting multiple legal entities within the insurance industry (life, annuity, property & casualty, and health sectors)
- Experience managing or supporting internal and external audits
