Overview
A leading provider of technology-enabled revenue cycle management solutions for health systems is seeking a Revenue Analyst. This role involves delivering information, forecasts, analytics, and insights related to client-reported Net Patient Revenue (NPR), NPR Lift initiatives, cash collections, and full outsource collections revenue. The position supports multiple finance leaders and requires strong analytical skills and experience in healthcare finance or accounting.
Responsibilities
- Forecast and analyze client-reported Net Patient Revenue (NPR), NPR Lift financial impacts, cash collection forecasts, and full outsource collections revenue.
- Analyze trends in patient volumes, patient statusing, service line utilization, acuity, and payor mix.
- Perform rate versus volume analysis to understand revenue changes.
- Present findings professionally to internal and external stakeholders.
- Evaluate NPR and Net AR results monthly, identify variances, and understand client reserve methodologies.
- Support monthly client close calls and provide coverage as needed.
- Fulfill analytics and data requests to support decision-making and risk mitigation.
- Maintain and enhance NPR Lift reporting tools and processes.
- Analyze operational metrics affecting monthly cash collections and collaborate with operational teams to forecast cash trends.
- Work with accounting to understand client adjustments and analyze monthly revenue results.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned activities, communicate observations and barriers.
- Maintain high-quality work with accurate information verification.
- Evaluate current processes and propose efficiency improvements.
- Maintain HIPAA and patient confidentiality compliance.
- Provide ad hoc reporting and gather records for leadership reporting needs.
- Establish and maintain interdepartmental relationships with all stakeholders.
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of relevant job experience.
- 10 or more years of leadership experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
- Strong critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Analytical skills with the ability to perform accurate computations and ratio analysis.
- Proficiency with relational database management and MS Excel.
- Financial or accounting experience in healthcare.
- Knowledge of revenue cycle structure.
- Experience with MS PowerPoint, MS Access, Business Objects, and SQL programming.
- Openness to innovation, including AI, to improve processes and client experiences.
- Ability to work remotely with willingness to travel to client, temporary, or corporate office locations as needed.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting preferred, or equivalent experience.
Certifications
- HFMA Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) required within 9 months of hire.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $76,300 - $131,550 based on experience.
