Overview
A medication contracting organization affiliated with a group of Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies is seeking a Senior Analyst to perform complex financial analysis related to rebate and value-based contract invoicing within Trade Relations. The organization focuses on improving affordability and access to costly medical benefit drugs administered in clinical settings for nearly 100 million Americans.
Responsibilities
- Perform specialized financial analysis for rebate and value-based contract invoicing
- Assist contract negotiators, client engagement, and analytics teams in managing financial analyses and strategies related to pharmaceutical manufacturer contracts
- Develop and implement reporting support tools and investigate manufacturer contract issues to identify process improvements
- Collaborate with internal teams to implement non-financial tools such as marketplace assessments and tracking client elections
- Represent Trade Relations on corporate projects including IT, client ad hoc reporting, and Finance/Treasury initiatives
- Support invoicing processes, rebate audits, client inquiries, and facilitate client questions regarding invoiced products, rates, and qualifications
- Communicate critical information to rebate invoicing vendors regarding client elections, pricing, contract updates, and other changes impacting rebate invoicing
- Analyze and resolve contract disputes with invoicing vendors to ensure timely manufacturer rebate payments
- Reconcile manufacturer payments against invoiced amounts for client payment allocation
- Support client implementation and audit requests
- Supervise and train rebate analysts
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Education, Certifications, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or related field
- 5-8 years of healthcare analyst experience, including health plan, health system, pharmacy, or medical managed care or specialty pharmacy
- Minimum 3 years of experience at a health plan or PBM in medical and/or pharmacy drug management
- Strong data management and analytics skills with ability to handle large datasets
- Experience with 340B program required
- Ability to facilitate changes, capture detailed information, and provide client support while protecting organizational interests
- Strong relationship-building and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Critical thinking skills with ability to anticipate issues and develop solutions
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship
Additional Qualifications
- Proven project management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word
- Knowledge of PBM and healthcare industry
- Medical pharmacy rebate knowledge
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in database management
- Experience with Big Data and data analytics
- Familiarity with databases and tools such as SAS, Teradata, Tableau, SQL, Power BI
Reporting Structure
- Reports to the Senior Director, Trade Relations
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $88,500.00 - $110,500.00 annually
- Eligible for annual bonus incentive pay
