Overview
This role supports a rapidly expanding, multi-entity B2B SaaS organization bringing core finance operations in-house. You will work closely with executive leadership to own financial consolidations, optimize month-end close, analyze SaaS performance metrics, and lead commercial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
Financial Close, Reporting & Multi-Entity Consolidation
- Take end-to-end ownership of the month-end close cycle, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations, and consolidated financial reporting.
- Lead the transition of financial close and reporting activities from external advisers to the internal finance function.
- Audit and streamline close workflows to reduce month-end closing timelines from 2–3 weeks.
- Prepare accurate, consolidated profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports across multiple domestic and international entities, with audit-ready documentation.
Management Accounting & Commercial Analysis
- Deliver monthly management accounts with deep, commercially relevant commentary on business performance and profitability drivers.
- Conduct budget-versus-actual and month-on-month variance analyses, investigating root causes rather than only reporting results.
- Develop, maintain, and refine annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and multi-entity cash flow projections.
- Partner with executive leadership to evaluate operational margins, identify financial risks, and translate financial data into actionable growth strategies.
SaaS Performance Metrics & Revenue Recognition
- Track, analyze, and report on key SaaS metrics, including MRR, ARR, churn, customer retention, customer acquisition cost (CAC), and customer lifetime value (LTV).
- Reconcile subscription, recurring billing, and usage data with core management accounts in full alignment with revenue recognition principles.
Acquisitions & Process Transformation
- Support post-acquisition financial integrations, harmonizing accounting policies, chart of accounts, and financial frameworks across acquired businesses.
- Audit existing financial workflows, identify manual bottlenecks, and implement automation tools and robust internal controls.
- Coach and uplift bookkeeping and operational finance team members by establishing clear procedures, responsibilities, and reporting deadlines.
Requirements
- Minimum 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including substantial senior management accounting, finance manager, or financial controller responsibilities.
- Proven experience in a B2B SaaS, subscription-based technology, or recurring revenue software business.
- Demonstrated ownership of financial consolidations, multi-entity accounting, month-end close streamlining, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Deep working knowledge of subscription billing models, revenue recognition standards, and core SaaS unit economics (MRR/ARR/Churn).
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Advanced Excel skills for complex financial modeling.
- Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills for senior stakeholder management.
