Senior Financial Accountant

Overview

A remote contract opportunity is available for a General Accounting Expert. This role involves developing comprehensive accounting tasks that simulate real-world scenarios, focusing on transactional accounting, close processes, and supporting analyses.

Responsibilities

• Develop long-term accounting tasks with deterministic rubrics reflecting real-world scenarios.
• Create transactional accounting scenarios including journal entries and accounts payable/accounts receivable with defined cash application rules.
• Design close processes such as reconciliations, accruals, and intercompany eliminations.
• Construct supporting analyses with flux explanations against actual variances.
• Work independently and asynchronously to ensure tasks have verifiable answers and meet deadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a staff or senior accountant.
• Expertise in reconciliations, accruals, intercompany transactions, fixed assets, and AP/AR using major ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, Xero, or Intacct.
• Ability to read and produce accounting documents including journal entry packages, reconciliations, and trial balances.
• Strong written communication skills to encode reasoning into deterministic rubrics.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA candidate status.

Compensation & Benefits

• Contract position paid hourly at $50–$70 per hour.
• Payment is made weekly via Stripe Connect.
