Overview
A company in the grocery and food delivery industry is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join their Strategic Finance team. The organization serves millions of customers by providing reliable delivery of food and essential household items, while offering flexible earning opportunities to personal shoppers. The role supports long-term investment areas focused on business empowerment and improving health outcomes through food access.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary strategic finance partner for business and health investment areas, developing a deep understanding of growth drivers and user challenges.
- Collaborate with leadership across product, engineering, data science, sales, and executive teams to develop strategy, business plans, pricing, and resource allocation.
- Address uncertain business problems by applying structure, data analysis, and judgment to create clear, actionable plans.
- Prepare executive-level narratives and materials for business reviews, planning, and leadership updates, communicating complex data clearly.
- Lead strategic planning with cross-functional teams by sizing opportunities, prioritizing initiatives, and implementing performance metrics.
- Identify and implement opportunities to automate and improve reporting and planning, including AI-enabled workflow enhancements.
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of experience in strategic finance, corporate finance, business operations, investment banking, management consulting, or private equity.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Advanced financial modeling skills using Excel or Google Sheets, with the ability to build models and reports from scratch.
- Proficiency in SQL and BI tools such as Looker or Tableau for self-service analysis and reporting automation; experience with AI or scripting is preferred.
- Strong self-starter capable of independently addressing problems and managing conflicting stakeholder needs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience producing executive-ready materials.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in business or a quantitative discipline such as economics or statistics.
- Experience working in marketplace or early-stage companies.
- Preferred location in the San Francisco Bay Area or New York City; remote candidates within the United States and Canada are also considered.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary ranges based on location:
- California, New York, Connecticut, New Jersey: $152,000–$160,500 USD
- Washington: $146,000–$154,000 USD
- Oregon, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, District of Columbia, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Colorado, Texas, Illinois, Hawaii: $140,000–$147,500 USD
- All other states: $127,000–$134,000 USD
- Offers vary based on experience and skills.
- Eligible for new hire equity grants and annual refresh grants.
Location
- Remote work model with flexibility to work from various locations.
- Preferred candidates located in San Francisco Bay Area or New York City; remote candidates in the US and Canada are welcome.
