Overview
A growing Finance team is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) group. This role acts as a strategic financial operations partner to the Engineering and Product organizations, bridging technical roadmaps with financial outcomes. The focus is on cloud infrastructure and R&D operations, supporting product innovation from core platform features to AI-driven capabilities with an emphasis on unit-economic efficiency.
This position reports to the Senior Manager of FP&A and is based in Bellevue, WA, with remote eligibility. Preference is given to candidates located in the Western United States. Occasional travel to the office may be required.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end rolling forecast for R&D, focusing on cloud consumption, AI/ML inference costs, and headcount scaling
- Participate actively in annual planning, quarterly forecasts, and variance analysis cycles
- Serve as a core member of the FinOps practice, translating complex AWS, Azure, and GCP usage data into actionable business insights
- Partner with Engineering to define and track cost metrics such as Cost per User or consumption-based costs, identifying opportunities to improve gross margins through architectural efficiency
- Lead monthly "Cloud Reviews" with Engineering VPs to analyze usage trends, Reserved Instance/Savings Plan coverage, and waste reduction
- Build financial models to evaluate ROI and margin impact of new product features, including AI capabilities
- Manage month-end close for R&D, ensuring accrual accuracy and providing variance analysis to the CFO organization
- Communicate findings clearly and support execution of recommendations with internal and external partners
- Automate manual reporting using AI, BI tools, and FP&A platforms to enhance real-time financial visibility
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses to support business decisions and procurement needs
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive experience in Finance or FP&A roles
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of facilitating discussions with senior leaders
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in building complex financial models
- Experience with cloud-native cost management tools such as CloudHealth, Apptio Cloudability, or AWS Cost Explorer is a plus
- Understanding of cloud computing concepts including compute, storage, and data transfer and their impact on financial statements is advantageous
- Willingness and ability to travel to the Bellevue office as needed
- Customer-oriented approach with a service mindset toward colleagues
- Strong curiosity and passion for using data and business acumen to solve problems

- Competitive base salary range: $92,500 - $126,250 USD, determined by experience, skills, and location
