Overview

This role partners with business leaders as an embedded finance professional, owning a functional area end to end. You will be the first finance contact for business leaders, understand the operating model at the same depth as they do, build and own the models that drive headcount and spend decisions, and run a consistent monthly business rhythm.

Responsibilities may be aligned to strengths and business needs, such as support, G&A, or go-to-market. Prior experience in a specific function is not required—success depends on your ability to learn how the business works and translate that into analysis leaders act on.

Responsibilities

  • Own the operating and capacity model for your assigned area, including how headcount and spend scale with business drivers.
  • Manage forecast, budget, and long-range planning for your functions, including the narrative that explains variances.
  • Run a monthly business review with functional leaders: what happened, why, and what it means for the rest of the year.
  • Conduct vendor and operating expense reviews, including identifying where leverage exists and where it does not.
  • Provide decision support between planning cycles, including business cases, scenario work, and other analysis as leaders need it.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Approximately 2 to 5 years in FP&A, business finance, consulting, banking, or a comparable analytical role (years are flexible if the substance is there).
  • Strong financial modeling skills and the analytical judgment to identify when conclusions are incorrect.
  • Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with functional leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ambiguous work and own it without close management.
  • A working style focused on automating repeatable parts of the job.
    • Familiarity with AI tools, BI tools, SQL, or planning systems is a plus.
    • Training/support will be provided if you have the instinct but have not used these tools.
  • Meaningful overlap with Pacific time (team is West Coast).
  • Open to occasional travel for team and company onsite visits.

Preferred Qualifications

  • None specified beyond the requirements listed above.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting pay depends on job-related factors including location, market demands, experience, job-related knowledge, and skills.
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, and PTO.
  • For roles based in California, Colorado, Maryland, New Jersey or Washington: base salary hiring range is $110,000 to $140,000 per year plus an equity grant.
  • For roles based in New York: base salary hiring range is $110,000 to $140,000 per year plus an equity grant.
