Overview
A high-growth technology company focused on outdoor exploration is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst for Strategic Finance & Special Projects. This role supports senior leadership by addressing complex financial and strategic questions across the organization. The position requires strong analytical skills, financial modeling expertise, and the ability to translate data into actionable insights for executive decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end analysis on special and ad hoc projects assigned by the CEO, CFO, and Senior Director of FP&A, focusing on operational and business performance.
- Identify trends and anomalies, construct narratives, and deliver clear recommendations.
- Perform financial modeling and analysis to evaluate growth opportunities, new business lines, pricing strategies, and operational investments.
- Manage projects involving market sizing, scenario modeling, and long-term strategic opportunity assessments.
- Develop and stress-test business cases for major strategic initiatives, providing leadership with grounded views of expected returns and key assumptions.
- Independently source, extract, and manipulate data from multiple internal and external sources using tools such as Tableau, Pitchbook, and Amplitude.
- Collaborate closely with the Business Intelligence team to build scalable data pipelines, improve data accessibility, and support the development of analytical infrastructure for the finance function.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or a related analytical field.
- Minimum of five years of experience in finance, strategy, investment banking, management consulting, or a related analytical function.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, capable of writing complex queries and extracting insights from large datasets.
- Strong financial modeling skills, including scenario analysis, sensitivity modeling, discounted cash flow (DCF), and return on investment (ROI) frameworks.
- Experience working directly with or embedded near Business Intelligence or data engineering teams.
- Ability to operate effectively in high-ambiguity environments with minimal direction.
- Exceptional written communication skills, with experience producing narrative-format analyses and recommendations for senior leadership.
- Proven ability to present complex analyses to C-suite and senior executives, including managing pushback and adapting presentations dynamically.
- Willingness to learn and actively leverage AI tools to enhance analytical speed and quality.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.
- Experience in a B2C SaaS or subscription business is strongly preferred.
- Permanent US work authorization is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field.
- Experience in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), corporate development, or investment banking.
- Preference for candidates located in Salt Lake City, Missoula, or Bozeman, where other finance team members are concentrated.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $115,000 to $140,000 annually, based on experience, skills, certifications, and education.
- Eligibility for common share options with a vesting schedule.

Location
This position can be performed from corporate offices located in Montana (Missoula or Bozeman) or from established virtual workforce communities (Basecamps) within a 90-mile radius of Austin, TX; Denver, CO; Kalispell, MT; Minneapolis, MN; Portland, OR; Salt Lake City, UT; and Seattle, WA.
Preference will be given to applicants based in the greater Salt Lake City area due to the concentration of the finance team.
