Overview

This role involves serving as a Senior Payments & Compliance Analyst responsible for compliance, risk management, and operational execution across a SaaS platform and an embedded payments product. The position ensures adherence to fintech, privacy, payments, and security regulations while leading initiatives such as payment provider RFPs, vendor integrations, API onboarding, and optimization of payments economics and risk.

The analyst will collaborate closely with leadership in FinTech, Legal, Engineering, Product, and Finance to reduce risk, improve margins, and advance the payments roadmap while maintaining compliance across the SaaS business.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day compliance for the SaaS platform and embedded payments product, including PCI-DSS, SOC 2, GDPR/CCPA, state money transmitter licensing, BSA/AML, and other relevant regulations
  • Monitor regulatory changes and implement necessary updates across the platform and payment workflows
  • Lead end-to-end RFP processes for new payment processors, gateways, and PayFac-as-a-Service providers
  • Oversee vendor onboarding, API integration, sandbox testing, Level 3 data submission, Same-Day ACH configuration, and maintain technical documentation
  • Develop and maintain compliance documentation, risk assessments, vendor scorecards, policies, and operational playbooks
  • Create and manage key payments and compliance dashboards covering metrics such as BPS, effective rates, ACH cap impact, Amex pass-through, attrition sensitivity, and compliance
  • Partner with Engineering and Product teams to support integration of new payment capabilities and platform migrations
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities early; coordinate with Legal, Finance, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success to address them
  • Support board-level and executive reporting on compliance posture, vendor performance, and financial/operational impact of payments

Requirements

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in compliance, payments operations, embedded payments, or SaaS compliance/operations
  • Strong knowledge of payment processing including card, ACH, high-ticket card-not-present transactions, interchange, Level 3 data, Same-Day ACH, and PayFac models
  • Proven experience leading vendor RFPs, due diligence, contract negotiations, or complex integrations
  • Advanced analytical and modeling skills with Excel/Google Sheets; SQL or BI tools experience is a plus
  • Detail-oriented with strong process and project management capabilities
  • Ability to translate complex regulatory and technical requirements into clear, actionable plans for engineering and business teams
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence Legal, Engineering, Product, and Finance teams
  • Comfortable using modern tools, including AI, to enhance research, documentation, and analysis
  • Experience in home improvement, home services, or construction technology is a strong plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field preferred
