Overview
A growing consulting firm specializing in brand consulting, sales strategy, data-driven insights, and talent optimization is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant. This role focuses on revenue recognition and scaling accounting processes to ensure compliance with GAAP and ASC 606 standards, particularly regarding deferred revenue and accurate financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead deferred revenue schedules and monthly roll-forwards
- Ensure revenue is recorded in the correct period according to GAAP (ASC 606)
- Prepare monthly revenue recognition journal entries
- Analyze contracts to determine proper revenue treatment
- Reconcile revenue accounts and deferred revenue balances
- Support month-end and quarter-end close processes
- Collaborate with Operations, Billing, and Finance teams to ensure revenue accuracy
- Assist with audit support and revenue documentation
- Own the end-to-end revenue accounting process, identify gaps, and drive improvements
- Help build scalable processes in preparation for future team growth
Requirements
- 4–8+ years of revenue accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP revenue recognition, preferably ASC 606
- Experience managing deferred revenue schedules
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Proficiency with NetSuite
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Advanced Excel and analytical skills (including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, reconciliations)
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to independently own processes and drive improvements
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $100,000 - $110,000

Location & Working Conditions
- Preferably based in the Charlotte office with a hybrid work schedule; remote candidates will also be considered
