Overview

This full-time management position is based at The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach, California. The role involves managing rooms and function space inventory to maximize revenue and profits. Responsibilities include building rates, packages, and sales strategy information in inventory systems, recommending pricing and positioning for cluster properties, and overseeing inventory management to ensure effective selling strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage room authorizations, rates, and restrictions.
  • Manage function space authorizations, restrictions, and rental.
  • Maximize cluster rooms revenue through inventory management.
  • Maintain transient rooms inventory and maximize transient revenue.
  • Release group rooms back into general inventory to ensure clean booking windows.
  • Implement and monitor hotel sales strategies in reservation and inventory systems.
  • Prepare critiques of sales strategies.
  • Monitor transient and group inventory daily to maximize revenue potential.
  • Communicate and adjust sales strategies and rate restrictions based on market conditions.
  • Support cluster selling initiatives with reservation centers.
  • Use reservation and demand forecasting systems to determine and control selling strategies.
  • Utilize property diagnostic processes to maximize revenue and profits.
  • Initiate, implement, and evaluate revenue tests.
  • Provide recommendations to improve revenue management processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company promotions and eCommerce channels.
  • Ensure adherence to brand strategies to maintain or increase revenue per available room (RevPAR) and revenue per available square foot (RevPAS).
  • Understand relationships between sales, reservations, and property management systems.
  • Participate in quarterly regional reviews.
  • Promote and protect brand equity.
  • Achieve and exceed performance, budget, and team goals.
  • Plan, organize, prioritize, and coordinate activities and solutions.
  • Establish long-range objectives and strategies.
  • Drive execution of predetermined strategies.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of relevant issues, products, systems, and processes.
  • Meet the needs of key stakeholders including owners, corporate, and guests.
  • Explore opportunities to drive profit, create client value, and encourage innovation.

Analyzing and Reporting Revenue Management Data

  • Compile, analyze, and monitor actual sales against projections.
  • Create and update long-range and weekly forecasts for rooms and catering by segment.
  • Conduct sales strategy analysis and refine to increase market share.
  • Maintain accurate reservation system information.
  • Analyze period-end and other data to identify trends and obstacles.
  • Generate updates on transient segments.
  • Assist with account diagnostics and validate conclusions.
  • Provide revenue analysis expertise to general managers, property leadership, and market sales leaders.
  • Prepare forecasts of revenue, profit, demand, and occupancy for rooms and function space (three-month, six-month, long-range, and budget).
  • Prepare revenue and profit opportunity analyses.
  • Manage all revenue, profit, and demand data associated with rooms and function space.
  • Develop and use analytical tools and systems to maximize revenues and profit.
  • Break down information into parts to identify underlying principles and reasons.
  • Analyze information and evaluate results to choose best solutions.
  • Use computer systems and software to program, enter data, and process information.
  • Generate accurate and timely reports and presentations.

Building Successful Relationships

  • Develop and manage internal key stakeholder relationships proactively.
  • Act as liaison between property and regional/corporate systems support when necessary.

Requirements

  • Either:
    • Associate degree (2-year) from an accredited university in Business Administration, Finance and Accounting, Economics, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major plus 3 years of experience in revenue management, sales and marketing, or related professional area.
    • Bachelor's degree (4-year) from an accredited university in the same fields plus 1 year of relevant experience.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual salary range: $82,000 - $114,000
  • Bonus eligible
