Overview

This role involves providing payroll services primarily in a remote capacity, with the requirement that team members reside within 50 miles of an office located in Texas (Dallas, Houston, Austin, Waco, Pearland), Wisconsin (Madison, Milwaukee, Appleton, Janesville, Eau Claire), or Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Clarks Summit, Lancaster, Allentown, Pittston, State College, Williamsport, New Castle).

Responsibilities

Client Service & Deliverables

  • Ensure accuracy of client payroll information within their payroll systems and resolve discrepancies.
  • Review and process payrolls timely to meet client deadlines, including updating employee records, calculating bonuses or severance, verifying federal and state tax calculations, and reconciling payroll deposits, tax withholdings, and wage garnishments.
  • Prepare reports detailing employee earnings, taxes, deductions, and employer contributions for social security and unemployment.

Client Service

  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships by consulting clients on payroll matters.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee data.
  • Communicate detailed information clearly in both written and verbal formats.
  • Provide technical software support to clients.
  • Identify and document out-of-scope work.
  • Recognize opportunities to expand services to clients.

Implementation & Technology

  • Support the implementation team as needed.
  • Interview clients to understand payroll requirements.
  • Manage new client implementation projects ensuring timely completion and client satisfaction.
  • Train clients on payroll processes when necessary.

Individual and Team Development

  • Serve as a resource for new hires and less experienced staff regarding clients, software, payroll, and processes.
  • Provide timely and honest feedback to team members.
  • Share insights and lessons learned to build team knowledge.
  • Maintain and research product knowledge on ADP software platforms.
  • Stay current on local, state, and federal payroll laws and practices.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5+ years of relevant payroll experience.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now (WFN) software and implementation.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook and Office Suite.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong focus on accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to adapt and multitask effectively.
  • Capable of working in a deadline-driven environment serving multiple clients.
  • Strong client service orientation.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, professional at all levels.
  • Quick learner of new technologies and processes.
  • Ability to integrate new knowledge and share with colleagues.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay rate range: $20.23 to $49.10 per hour.
  • Actual compensation depends on skills, experience, qualifications, certifications, work arrangements, and geographic location.

Remote work with proximity requirement to offices in Texas, Wisconsin, or Pennsylvania as specified above.
