Overview
This role is for a Senior Tax Associate at a 100% virtual CPA firm with a team located across the United States. The organization serves Real Estate Investors, Syndicates, and Fund Managers.
As a Senior Tax Associate, you will prepare and review Individual, Partnership, and S-Corporation tax returns, along with the supporting workpapers. You may also prepare and/or review other income tax returns (as needed), identify missing or incomplete data during initial file reviews, and communicate directly with clients to request required documents.
Responsibilities
- Review basic tax returns and supporting documents to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Prepare complex tax returns and supporting documents, including preparing Form 3115 and reporting 1031 exchanges, ensuring completeness and accuracy
- Consult with peers, supervisors, and clients; respond to communications on a same-day basis or within external 48-hour timelines as applicable
- Follow professional ethics and client confidentiality policies aligned with firm standards and the AICPA
- Seek licensing such as EA or CPA
- Prepare and/or review documents and response letters to resolve client notices
- Assist on various projects throughout the year, including client proposals, rolling forward workpapers, and development of training materials
- Attend relevant CPE to build and enhance technical and process-related skills
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience (3 years experience as an associate recommended)
- This is a fully remote position
- CPA or EA certification preferred

- Development of technical skills, reflected in instant tax feedback quality ratings and the ability to tackle projects of greater complexity
- Client NPS ratings
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or EA certification preferred
