Overview
This position is for our office in Santa Barbara, CA. The role is open to fully remote work with occasional travel to the Santa Barbara office.
Due to continuing growth, the organization is seeking a Senior Tax Manager with an entrepreneurial spirit and a track record of driving results. This person is expected to grow into a future leadership role by owning both client relationships and team management. The role also supports growth initiatives, mentoring, and maintaining firm standards of excellence.
Responsibilities
- Work with and support the firm’s Director in leading and managing the local team
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, including those transitioning from retiring partners
- Act as the primary point of contact and relationship manager for new clients
- Partner with the executive team and Director to develop and execute growth initiatives, product and services offerings, and operational strategies
- Review and manage individual, business (C-corps, S-corps, and partnerships), and trust tax return engagements
- Lead consulting and advisory efforts in the region
- Lead and manage staff in areas of research, training, and development
Requirements
- 7–12 years of experience preparing and reviewing individual, corporate, partnership, and estate tax returns
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- CPA or EA certification required
- Direct experience managing staff and client relationships
- Excellent communication skills and strong attention to management
- Proprietor mentality and strong work ethic
- Entrepreneurial mindset with interest in strategy and operations
Compensation & Benefits
- Expected salary range: $120,000 – $195,000 per year
