Overview
This role supports Excess Casualty and Mobility Solutions underwriting teams by providing financial reporting, planning, and analytics that drive business performance.
You will manage financial and operational reporting, planning, and forecasting, producing complex analysis reports and projects. Strong data stewardship and analytics are used to provide strategic recommendations to leadership.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and enhance financial and operational reports, analyses, plans, and forecasts in accordance with prescribed procedures.
- Serve as a data steward by obtaining required data for analyses from appropriate internal (e.g., general ledger, loss warehouse) or external sources in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.
- Conduct in-depth variance analyses (plan vs. actual, prior year, multi-year trends) and identify significant items requiring further investigation to support underwriting partners.
- Maintain full documentation of recurring job duties, data sources, and assumptions to ensure reports and analyses are timely, accurate, and complete.
- Partner with market-facing Excess Casualty underwriting teams by providing financial insights that support strategy and goals.
- Identify opportunities for efficiencies and improvements to processes, controls, and technology systems related to the function.
- Follow up on financial or operational variances and suggest resolutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (Finance or Accounting) required.
- CPA or advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
- Senior: Minimum of 3 years of finance experience.
- Lead: Minimum of 5 years of finance experience.
- Demonstrated attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication across teams and organizational boundaries to ensure completion of shared goals.
- Comfortable leading meetings and communicating issues and trends to senior management and other groups at the appropriate level of detail.
- Solid understanding of Finance Tools and Analytical Methods.
- Ability to work EST strongly preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
The actual internal level/grade depends on the candidate’s overall experience and skill level.
- Senior Financial Analyst: $77,300–$109,500 annually. Annual FTO days (Flexible Time Off): 15.
- Lead Financial Analyst: $97,000–$138,000 annually. Annual FTO days (Flexible Time Off): 20.
Typical starting salary range is determined by factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Some roles may include a corresponding compensation plan that can include commission and/or bonus earnings based on factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
