Overview
This role involves supporting RFx responses and bid execution by working within established pricing models and costing tools to provide accurate, competitive, and profitable pricing recommendations. The position collaborates with Sales, Operations, and internal teams to support high-value and strategic opportunities. As the organization expands internationally, this role will also include global pricing analysis and support for cross-border and international freight solutions.
Responsibilities
- Serve as an analytical resource for domestic and global RFx responses by generating pricing estimates, bid structures, and pricing recommendations balancing competitiveness with profitability.
- Conduct margin and scenario analysis across transportation modes including TL, LTL, intermodal, parcel, air, and ocean using established costing models.
- Assist in maintaining off-book pricing, price assurances, and contract pricing to ensure compliance with approved strategies.
- Apply pricing analysis and performance data, including win/loss trends and bid outcomes, to continuously improve pricing recommendations.
- Follow established pricing governance frameworks, workflows, and documentation standards; escalate deviations from approved strategies as identified.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Data Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in pricing analysis, logistics analytics, data analytics, or supply chain.
- Familiarity with transportation pricing concepts including carrier rates, fuel surcharges, and freight modes (TL, LTL, intermodal, parcel, ocean, air).
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel (financial modeling, pivot tables, scenario analysis); exposure to SQL and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Familiarity with TMS platforms, freight rating tools, or supply chain management systems.
- Effective problem-solving and communication skills with ability to present analysis clearly to internal stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred:
- Experience in a 3PL or freight brokerage environment.
- Familiarity with freight rating tools such as WorldTrak, Cargowise, 7L Freight, WebCargo.
- Working understanding of cost-to-serve and margin analysis methodologies.
- Awareness of US Customs, TSA, CTPAT, and international air/ocean/land freight compliance is a plus.
