Overview
This role provides direct support and consulting to payroll clients. The position requires in-depth knowledge of payroll practices and applicable laws to deliver accurate, timely service. Work is performed under the supervision of the Payroll Supervisor, with independent management of client relationships; issues are escalated as needed for prompt resolution.
Responsibilities
Client Service & Deliverables
- Ensure client payroll information is accurate within their specific payroll system and resolve any discrepancies
- Review and/or process payrolls in a timely manner to meet client deadlines, including:
- Updating employee records
- Calculating/paying bonuses or severance
- Reviewing the accuracy of federal and state income tax calculations
- Reconciling payroll deposits, tax withholdings, wage garnishments, and related items
- Prepare reports of employee earnings, taxes, deductions, and employer’s contribution for social security and unemployment
Client Service
- Build strong, trusted client relationships by consulting with clients on payroll-related matters
- Maintain confidentiality of employee data
- Accurately convey detailed information in written and verbal formats
- Provide technical software support to clients
- Identify and accurately capture out-of-scope work
- Identify new opportunities to expand services to clients
Implementation & Technology
- Serve as an additional resource to the implementation team when needed
- Interview clients to understand payroll needs
- Manage new client implementation projects to ensure timely completion and client satisfaction
- Train clients on payroll processes as necessary
Individual and Team Development
- Support new hires and/or less experienced staff on client needs, software, payroll, and/or processes
- Provide timely, constructive feedback
- Share insights and lessons learned to build team capabilities and knowledge
- Research and maintain product knowledge on ADP software platforms
- Maintain current knowledge of local, state, and federal practices and laws
Qualifications
- 2-year degree preferred or 2 years experience in lieu of degree
- Experience with ADP software platforms desirable
- Working knowledge of Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Highly detail oriented with strong focus on accuracy
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Strong adaptability and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to effectively work in a deadline-driven environment serving multiple clients
- Ability to provide exceptional client service
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; communicates professionally with all levels

Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $15.97 to $41.00
- Actual compensation depends on factors including skills, experience, qualifications, professional certifications, work arrangements, geographic location, and other business and organizational needs
- Compensation is not typical to be hired at or near the top of the range
- A compensation and benefits package is offered to eligible employees
