Overview

A leading global technology organization is seeking a Senior Assistant Financial Controller to join their Corporate Accounting team. This team supports the Chief Accounting Officers organization and is responsible for US GAAP external reporting, statutory reporting, compliance, fiduciary responsibilities, and mergers and acquisitions.

The Senior Assistant Financial Controller will manage accounting, financial audits, and internal management reporting for corporate legal entities. This role ensures compliance with US GAAP, local tax, accounting, and financial regulations, and supports governance to protect shareholder value.

Responsibilities

  • Manage monthly and quarterly close cycles, ensuring timely US GAAP financial reporting in accordance with corporate guidelines.
  • Consolidate financial data from all corporate entities, prepare journal entries, and review income statement activity and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Develop and drive intercompany reconciliation processes between legal entities.
  • Manage accounting entries related to integration reorganizations.
  • Review account reconciliations for reasonableness and appropriateness.
  • Prepare balance sheet and P&L flux analysis for assigned corporate legal entities.
  • Support regional Financial Controllers to ensure compliance with policies and US GAAP standards.
  • Prepare quarterly schedules for SEC 10Q/10K filings in collaboration with global Financial Controllers and support the External Reporting team.
  • Collaborate with Global Finance organizations including Business Finance, Tax, Treasury, and Legal.
  • Prepare and manage audits of statutory financial statements for assigned corporate legal entities.
  • Work closely with external auditors to complete audits within statutory timelines in Ireland and Switzerland.
  • Participate in global and regional strategic initiatives to optimize Chief Accounting Officer operations.
  • Research past transactions and interpret past events and future treatments.
  • Support Internal Audit and SOX PMO in assessing internal controls, implementing recommendations, and maintaining documentation.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to team members.
  • Collaborate with Tax on authority information requests and audits.
  • Implement best practice system processes and controls to ensure compliance with financial reporting obligations.

Qualifications

  • Professional Accounting Qualification (CPA or equivalent) required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business with a major in Accounting; MBA is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting within the technology sector, multinational companies, Fortune 500, or public accounting at a top 10 firm.
  • Experience in corporate accounting, consolidation, and intercompany processes preferred.
  • Strong understanding of finance responsibilities including accounting, revenue recognition, treasury, tax, and business practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP accounting, finance, and tax regulations; experience with ASC 830 (formerly SFAS 52) preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems; familiarity with Oracle Financials or other ERP solutions is advantageous.
  • Project management skills with the ability to plan, initiate, monitor, and implement projects.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary range: $70,600 - $141,200 per year (USD), with eligibility for bonus and equity.
