Overview
This role involves managing accounts receivable (AR) operations within a fast-growing business travel and spend management platform. The position requires ownership of both customer and supplier AR workstreams, ensuring accuracy in invoicing, cash application, reconciliations, and collections. The successful candidate will collaborate across teams to resolve issues, support automation initiatives, and contribute to month-end close activities.
Responsibilities
- Execute customer and supplier AR processes including invoicing accuracy, cash application, supplier reconciliations, and collections follow-up.
- Monitor invoice data proactively to identify anomalies, errors, and billing discrepancies.
- Drive resolution of AR issues across teams such as Engineering, Client Operations, and BPO, ensuring thorough documentation of root causes and outcomes.
- Represent AR operational needs in Product and Engineering discussions by surfacing data integrity issues, validating billing logic changes, and identifying AR risks before product launches.
- Support month-end close activities including AR reconciliations, aging reviews, and preparation of bad debt inputs.
- Perform quality assurance on BPO agent workflows by reviewing output quality, identifying recurring errors, and escalating training or process gaps.
- Assist automation efforts by mapping manual processes, identifying handoff points, and validating outputs after implementation.
Requirements
- 3 to 6 years of experience in accounts receivable, billing operations, or accounting within a high-volume, transaction-heavy environment.
- Hands-on experience managing billing disputes, reconciliations, cash application, and collections across both customer and supplier portfolios.
- Proven ability to identify root causes of issues and drive them to resolution rather than simply escalating.
- Experience collaborating with Engineering or Product teams on billing data, payment flows, or system fixes.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in spreadsheets and data tools to investigate discrepancies and support aging and reconciliation analysis.
- Familiarity with BPO-managed workflows and ability to perform quality assurance on agent output, identifying errors and training or process gaps.
- Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce preferred.
- Comfortable interfacing directly with customers and suppliers on complex billing or invoice matters.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $54,200 to $75,000 USD, dependent on experience and location.
- Total compensation may include equity and/or variable pay (on-target earnings).
