Sr. Business Analyst, Capital One Shopping (Remote - Eligible)

Overview

This role is part of a consumer shopping initiative focused on improving how people shop online and deliver shopping and savings experiences for customers while driving incremental and sustainable sales for merchant partners.

Responsibilities

• Analysis: Identify business challenges and opportunities for improvement, and use analysis to make strategic or tactical recommendations
• Product: Perform modeling and analytics to support new product and pricing strategies for various lending products
• Marketing: Support direct-to-consumer marketing efforts for select products and strategic intent for products distributed through the retail channel; help build targeted insights to inform design and development of new customer experiences and breakthrough technology/concepts for go-to-market strategies
• Credit Risk: Support step-change improvements in credit performance by connecting drivers of future consumer credit trends to historical behavior, creating risk models, and testing hypotheses using rigorous monitoring and analysis
• Execution: Frame problems, develop hypotheses, test and analyze, develop solutions, assess operational feasibility, lead implementation efforts, and develop a monitoring plan
• Partnership: Collaborate with teams across IT, Sales, Operations, Finance, and others to drive improvement in quality, volume, service, and profitability
• Strategic & analytic orientation: Make decisions and solve problems using analytics; apply strong quantitative orientation alongside conceptual thinking
• Business judgment, leadership, and integrity: Make tenacious decisions with a healthy, aggressive, yet responsible business approach
• Communication: Deliver strong written and oral communication; influence stakeholders and drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal skills, and negotiation

Basic Qualifications

• Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following degrees, with the expectation the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer engineering, Software engineering, Mechanical engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field)
  • Master’s degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration
• At least 2 years of professional experience performing analysis

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Business or a quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering
• 1+ years of experience in statistical model building
• 1+ years of experience in market research
• 1+ years of experience in SQL querying
• 2+ years of experience in business analysis
• 1+ years of experience in consulting

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary (full-time):
  • Remote (Regardless of Location): $101,100 - $115,400 for Sr. Business Analyst
  • McLean, VA: $111,200 - $126,900 for Sr. Business Analyst
• Performance-based incentive compensation may be available, including cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non-discretionary depending on the plan.

• Open to hiring a Remote Employee for this opportunity.
• If hired to work in other locations, the pay range will be based on the associated location.
