Overview

This role is for a Senior Government Accounting Manager within a corporate team supporting aerospace operations. The position serves as the subject matter expert for corporate government accounting submissions, including Forward Pricing and Incurred Cost proposals. It also involves assisting with Home Office Disclosure Statements and leading internal special projects. The role requires ensuring compliance with Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), maintaining key relationships with Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) personnel, and collaborating with various internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine corporate Home Office strategy for cost recovery and disclosed accounting practices to ensure compliance and optimize processes.
  • Support, coordinate, and negotiate corporate Home Office Forward Pricing, Incurred Cost submissions, and related audits.
  • Maintain and update Disclosure Statements and support related audits.
  • Assess complex CAS compliance scenarios, including alleged non-compliances, and assist in impact assessment and resolution strategies.
  • Enhance business processes to ensure compliance with CAS, FAR, DFARS, and other applicable acquisition regulations.
  • Collaborate with external government audit partners and internal representatives to support government and internal audits.
  • Lead or support lean transformation initiatives to eliminate waste, improve transparency, establish standard work, and enhance team value.
  • Foster continuous learning to deepen domain expertise and business acumen.
  • Promote a culture of compliance with clear communication of requirements to all stakeholders, from individual contributors to senior leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 6 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Significant related experience at a major defense contractor, DCMA, or DCAA.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep expertise in Government Accounting with practical experience in Cost Accounting Standards, CASB Disclosure Statement, Forward Pricing, and Incurred Cost at a CAS 403 Corporate Home Office.
  • Extensive experience interacting with senior DCMA (ACO, DACO, CACO) and DCAA (supervisory auditor, Branch Manager, Regional Audit Manager) personnel.
  • Strong cost accounting background related to U.S. Government contracting.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
  • Ability to apply lean principles in transactional settings, focusing on root cause analysis, countermeasure development, and sustained change control.
  • Demonstrated project and program leadership skills, strategic thinking, and ability to plan and execute projects.
  • Capability to balance strategic initiatives with tactical priorities in a resource-constrained environment.
  • Comfortable working in an environment of ambiguity and changing priorities driven by customer requirements and external factors.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $137,000 to $183,000 annually, with specific pay influenced by experience, education, and skills.
