Overview
This role involves managing a US-based team responsible for the timely and accurate completion of all international components of the US federal income tax return, which accounts for approximately 75% of the time. The remaining 25% includes leading various international tax projects and providing international tax advice to business teams. This is a hybrid position located in either Louisville, KY or Plano, TX. Candidates within 90 miles of the Restaurant Support Center are required to work onsite three days per week.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the completion of international tax forms included in the US consolidated tax return, such as Forms 5471, 5472, 8858, 8865, 1118, 8990, 8991, 8992, 8993, and related schedules.
- Oversee and review calculations for Subpart F income, earnings and profits, and foreign tax credits.
- Manage preparation and review of disclosure statements and elections related to international acquisitions, restructurings, and tax planning.
- Track other tax attributes for foreign subsidiaries, including previously taxed earnings and profits (PTEP) and stock basis.
- Ensure intercompany transactions are accurately reflected on all US international tax filings.
- Run and review the quarterly US international tax model, collaborating with the US International Tax Director and income tax accounting team to meet quarterly deadlines.
- File and track US entity classification elections.
- Oversee quarterly updates to the legal entity organization chart.
- Obtain US tax residency certificates.
- Review legal agreements from a tax perspective.
- Provide timely international tax advice and respond to international tax inquiries from business teams.
- Drive continuous improvement in the efficiency and effectiveness of key international tax compliance processes.
- Develop and train junior team members.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Minimum of 10 years of tax experience, including at least 3 years in US international compliance and 3 years in tax consulting.
- Experience working closely with various corporate groups such as treasury, finance, and operations.
- Strong project management, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and business communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with HFM, JD Edwards, and OneSource Income Tax software.
- Master’s degree.
- CPA certification.
- JD with LLM in Taxation.
- Residency local to Louisville, KY or Plano, TX.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $140,000 - $170,000 annually plus bonus eligibility.
- Final salary will consider the candidate’s location, experience, and other job-related factors.
