Overview
A remote-first accounting firm serving over 400 clients in tech sectors such as crypto, AI, SaaS, and healthcare technology is seeking a Staff Accountant. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with founders and operators, managing full-cycle accounting for innovative companies.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full accounting cycle for a portfolio of tech clients, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and financial statements
- Utilize QuickBooks Online at an expert level
- Build financial models and reports using Google Sheets
- Prepare for tax season and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
- Collaborate directly with clients to maintain accurate and timely financial records
- Adapt to new automation tools and technologies as they are implemented
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of professional accounting experience, preferably with technology companies (SaaS, crypto, fintech, AI, healthcare tech)
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks Online
- Advanced skills in Google Sheets, including financial modeling
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with substantial hands-on accounting experience
- Strong self-direction and accountability suitable for remote work
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work efficiently
- Excellent communication skills, including clear writing and professionalism across time zones
Compensation & Benefits
- Initial 90-day contract as a 1099 contractor at $50/hour
- After 90 days, transition to a full-time W-2 position with an annual salary between $80,000 and $100,000
