Overview
An established hospitality management organization is seeking an energetic and experienced Staff Accountant to join their team. This role offers remote flexibility for candidates with prior hotel or hospitality experience; however, those located within a 30-mile radius of Louisville, KY are expected to maintain a regular in-office presence.
Responsibilities
- Complete multiple bank reconciliations accurately and timely for assigned properties.
- Perform all month-end closing tasks for the assigned portfolio within the provided schedule.
- Complete all balance sheet reconciliations on time for the assigned portfolio.
- Run, review, and distribute month-end owner's reports based on ownership requirements.
- Communicate effectively and promptly with the Operations Team, including General Managers, regarding monthly tasks such as Preliminary Financial Reviews.
- Research and resolve account variances using supporting schedules.
- Provide daily and weekly cash flow forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling guest information and sensitive hotel data.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to meet business objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
- Strong financial and analytical skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in problem-solving.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PC-based General Ledger software.
- Experience with general ledger reconciliations.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Competent in applying mathematical operations to tasks.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
