Staff Accountant - EPIC

Overview

Pay Range: $21.01 - $29.41 per hour

This role provides assistance to the Finance Department in areas including Billing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and general accounting.

Responsibilities

• Assist team members and clients with fee-related inquiries; worklog, reconcile, and disburse fee submissions (40%)
• Support Monthly and Quarterly Billing processes and manage Accounts Receivables (30%)
• Prepare journal entries, code vendor invoices, perform account analysis and reconciliation, close books, and set up new accounts monthly
• Reconcile bank statements, verify deposits, address questions and problems, and prepare general ledger reconciliations monthly (20%)
• Monitor accounts receivable collections from sponsors or institutions and reconcile customer accounts
• Maintain client contracts with appropriate supporting materials and update records as necessary (5%)
• Perform other duties as requested (5%)

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance, plus two (2) years of accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Knowledge of automated financial accounting reporting systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, financial software, and database applications
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to provide successful solutions
• Highly detailed and organized; able to work independently and meet consistent deadlines
• Ability to read and interpret procedure manuals and technical documents
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Effective communication skills with employees across the organization
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
• Ability to solve practical problems involving a variety of concrete variables with limited standardization
• Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Ability to develop industry-specific system skills through internal training within a reasonable timeframe

Physical Requirements

• Communicate effectively with internal and/or external customers
• Stationary for 75% or more of the time
• Ability to move objects up to 10 lbs
