Overview
A growing mental health practice group is seeking a Staff Accountant II to support their Accounting team. The organization focuses on providing accessible mental health services and values belonging, empathy, courage, and teamwork to foster an inclusive workplace.
Responsibilities
- Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts
- Prepare journal entries, variance analyses, and balance sheet reconciliations during month-end close
- Assist in implementing and documenting accounting procedures
- Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and other departments
- Research and interpret financial data to address accounting inquiries
- Support annual internal and external audits by preparing schedules, providing backup, and assisting auditors
- Investigate and resolve audit findings, discrepancies, and compliance issues
- Participate in additional projects as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of accounting experience
- Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to identify process improvements and challenge existing procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Critical thinking and ownership to complete tasks and projects
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Adaptability to change and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Demonstrated sensitivity and inclusivity when working with diverse backgrounds
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary range: $75,000 - $85,000, plus potential for an annual bonus
