  • This role supports an organization in the mental healthcare industry, focused on expanding access to mental health services.

The Staff Accountant II maintains accurate financial records and supports the accounting department’s month-end close processes. The position helps ensure financial data integrity through journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses, supporting reliable financial reporting and compliance. The role also supports audits and collaborates cross-functionally to improve financial processes.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare journal entries, variance analyses, and balance sheet reconciliations during month-end close.
  • Assist with implementing and documenting accounting procedures.
  • Collaborate with teams outside the accounting department.
  • Research and interpret financial data to answer accounting questions.
  • Support annual internal and external audits, including schedule preparation and auditor communication.
  • Investigate and resolve audit findings and account discrepancies.
  • Participate in other projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years accounting experience.
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and project ownership capabilities.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation: $62,000 - $73,000 annually, plus annual bonus potential.
