Staff Accountant

Overview

This role involves maintaining the financial health and integrity of the organization. Responsibilities include managing key accounting activities such as month-end accounting, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. The position is detail-oriented and requires strong analytical skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively within a dynamic team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries (reversing, recurring, intercompany, standard) and assist with monthly, quarterly, and yearly close processes.
• Analyze and reconcile account balances related to various financial transactions, general ledger balances, and financial records; research and report variances.
• Respond to information requests, review financial data, and assist in preparing supporting documentation.
• Prepare reports as assigned for internal and external auditors.
• Assist with implementing appropriate accounting policies and procedures and adhere to internal controls; recommend improvements to internal controls.
• Prepare intercompany debit and credit notes (including AHQ and other regions), resolve discrepancies in a timely manner, and reconcile balances to ensure all parties agree.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.

• Abide by all federal, state, and local laws.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Finance, Accounting and/or equivalent training, education, or work experience required.
• 1-3 years of accounting/finance experience required.
• Experience with SAP-FMS and Business Intelligence (BI) Reporting required.
• Intermediate-level experience using Microsoft Excel required.
• Computer skills: Microsoft 365 Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Footwear/apparel accounting background.
• Experience in the Footwear + Apparel in retail/wholesale industry.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary/Pay Range: $28.37–$31.25
