Overview
The organization is seeking a Corporate Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and monthly financial reporting. This role participates in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial processes, including analysis of selected transactions to ensure accurate journal entries and active support of month-end close.
Responsibilities
- Participate in day-to-day operational accounting activities
- Assist in preparing financial reports and analysis for internal and external use
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reconciliations
- Interpret financial transactions, resolve accounting discrepancies, and identify significant fluctuations
- Analyze specific transaction types (including accruals, capitalized software, and share-based compensation) to ensure proper journal entries are recorded
- Take an active role in month/quarter/year-end closing processes
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax professionals
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls
- Assist with preparation of the annual budget and forecast
- Perform special projects and studies on accounting and control matters as requested
- Contribute to process improvements focused on automation, scalability, and efficiency to streamline accounting methods and increase productivity
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/Finance required
- 0–2 years’ experience in financial reporting and/or general accounting
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP
- Excellent analytical ability and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams
- Good oral and written communication skills required
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a remote environment
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, anticipate issues, and solve problems
- Ability to analyze problems and consider multiple alternative solutions to make decisions
- Ability to develop practices, workflows, and policies
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA, or working towards CPA license
- QuickBooks experience
Compensation & Benefits
- Anticipated salary range: $55–$66K (final offer determined by qualifications, experience, and the position’s geographic location)
