Staff Accountant - REMOTE

Overview

A financial performance improvement firm is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their remote team. This full-time position requires the candidate to live within 75 miles of St. Louis, Missouri. The role offers a salary range of $70,000 to $85,000, plus bonus and benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, holidays, and PTO. The position has flexible hours, typically Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, with an immediate start date. Sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end close processes including journal entries, accruals, and financial reporting
• Reconcile balance sheet, income statement, cash, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounts
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
• Execute accounting projects such as financial analysis, ERP implementations, and reporting
• Identify, investigate, and resolve accounting discrepancies and financial record errors
• Process and maintain client financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner
• Manage accounting tasks and project deadlines effectively
• Communicate with clients to obtain documentation, answer questions, and provide status updates
• Ensure accuracy, accountability, and on-time completion of all assigned client work
• Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and client service

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of general ledger and GAAP accounting principles
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and Pivot tables
