Overview

This full-time, remote position is for a Strategic Pricing Analyst to support the development, delivery, and optimization of pricing strategies and models within a premier international labor and employment law firm. The role involves structuring and analyzing fee arrangements to align with organizational objectives and client expectations, driving profitability, competitiveness, and sustainable growth.

The position reports to the Senior Manager of Strategic Pricing and can be performed fully remotely or on a hybrid basis from any of the firm's U.S. offices.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior pricing leadership, partners, and key stakeholders to develop and implement pricing strategies and initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain competitive pricing models, templates, and fee structures across all practice areas.
  • Identify opportunities to increase profitability through improved pricing strategies.
  • Create pricing tools and frameworks that accommodate varying client needs.
  • Design bespoke pricing solutions including alternative fee arrangements (AFAs), hourly rates, fixed fees, and success-based pricing models.
  • Analyze historical data to evaluate pricing performance and refine models.
  • Provide insights on value-based pricing aligned with client budgets and expectations.
  • Monitor fiscal health and conduct profitability analyses on matters and client portfolios.
  • Collaborate with Legal Project Management to integrate pricing into client engagement solutions.
  • Develop and evaluate pricing options and conduct margin analyses for new proposals and renewals.
  • Communicate financial information effectively to non-financial personnel and translate into actionable plans.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on pricing performance and recommendations.
  • Monitor AFA engagements and incorporate lessons learned into future pricing approaches.
  • Analyze industry trends and competitor pricing strategies to recommend adjustments.
  • Assist with setting and reviewing timekeeper billing rates across markets.
  • Support pricing and fee negotiations with clients alongside relationship partners.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, regulatory standards, client contracts, and billing guidelines.
  • Perform additional projects and tasks as assigned.

  • Proficiency in Excel and other financial tools for data analysis and financial modeling.
  • Deep understanding of legal matter profitability and ability to explain drivers to non-financial audiences.

  • Creative and innovative mindset adaptable to a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Highly organized with strong project management and prioritization skills.
  • Superior judgment and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Flexibility and ability to travel to firm offices and events as needed.

Education and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree required, preferably in finance, economics, accounting, business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in finance and/or operations; prior experience in a large law firm preferred.
  • Experience with law firm billing systems and financial reporting is preferred.
  • Proven success managing financial and operational initiatives in a national, multi-office environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of Aderant software is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly rate range: $48.08 - $57.69, determined by location, experience, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors.

Location

This role is fully remote or hybrid from any U.S. office location.
