SU - Financial Controller

Overview

A full-time remote Financial Controller role is available with a growing U.S.-based organization. This position oversees and manages financial operations, ensures accurate financial reporting, and maintains compliance with U.S. GAAP accounting standards. The role also supports financial strategy and efforts to improve operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular cash reconciliations between bank and credit card feeds, including imported general ledger activity, to ensure accurate and consistent data entry.
• Enforce data entry best practices when reconciling and correcting errors.
• Manage accounts receivable (AR) functions.
• Assist with accounts payable (AP) functions using Stampli.
• Review, apply, and edit customer deposits to ensure accurate reporting.
• Process payroll bi-weekly.
• Prepare month-end bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Book closing entries and deliver accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
• Assist with ad hoc financial and accounting projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• More than 3 years of experience in a Controller role or similar position.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, sumifs, if/then, etc.
• Ability to learn and navigate new system software (ERP, and front- and back-office systems).
• Highly detail-oriented with an analytical mindset; able to independently review work products and identify/correct mistakes.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Ability to re-tool existing processes to improve scalability for the future.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA certification (highly desirable but not required).
• Proficiency in NetSuite.

Compensation & Benefits

• $7,500 - $10,000 per month, paid in USD depending on experience.
• Independent contractor agreement paid 2x monthly.
• The client is seeking a long-term commitment.
