Overview

This role involves serving as a Task Force Hotel Director of Finance or Hotel Controller, providing temporary management support during hotel management vacancies. The position requires frequent travel and working in fast-paced environments, supporting hotel operations during openings, management transitions, and property repositioning.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a positive, energetic, and respectful work environment within the department

  • Provide temporary management support to prevent disruptions in the department
  • Actively assist and collaborate as a team player among staff
  • Maintain effective system and control procedures according to policies and supervise external audit processes
  • Manage all accounting functions, including purchasing and night audit staff
  • Provide leadership to ensure accountability for financial and overall accounting department performance
  • Ensure compliance with all financial practices and regulations
  • Produce monthly financial statements, forecasts, cash flow statements, and other required hotel/corporate reports timely
  • Manage the annual budgeting process, including final submissions with supporting documentation and justifications
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to achieve hotel goals related to customer care, brand standards, and financial responsibility
  • Ensure all revenue is properly accounted for, produce daily revenue reports, and coordinate with the night audit team as needed

Requirements

  • Proficiency in hotel software such as M3, ProfitSword, Oracle, Workday, PVNG
  • Willingness and ability to travel 100% of the time
  • Minimum of 5 years of recent successful hotel experience
  • Professional maturity to operate effectively in dynamic hotel environments
  • Creative and innovative problem-solving skills
  • Strong management skills with a proactive approach to hotel support
  • Ability to adapt quickly and perform under high expectations
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to meet deadlines and embrace ongoing change
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
  • Ambitious self-starter with a desire to learn
  • Knowledge of hotel structure and interdepartmental interactions
  • Eligibility to work in the United States

Location

  • This is a 100% travel position requiring on-site presence for the duration of assignments, with trips home every two to three weeks
